Introduction

Welcome to EvaBook ("we", "our", or "us"). EvaBook is a personal finance and business management app developed by EvaCODE. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application (com.evacode.evabook).

By using EvaBook, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the app.

What EvaBook Does

EvaBook is a smart ledger and cashbook app designed for small business owners, shopkeepers, and freelancers. It helps you:

  • Manage customers — track who owes you money and who you owe
  • Record transactions — log give/get entries with notes, dates, and bill images
  • Cashbook — track income sources and daily expenses/items
  • Generate PDF statements — create and share professional statements for customers
  • Backup & restore — export and import your data as a local file
  • Customise themes — personalise the app appearance
✅ All your business data (customers, transactions, cashbook entries) is stored in your own Firebase account and is never sold or shared with third parties.

How We Use Your Information

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the app's features
  • Sync your data across devices via Firebase Firestore
  • Authenticate you securely via Firebase Authentication
  • Display personalised or contextual ads to free users via Google AdMob
  • Process in-app purchases via Google Play Billing
  • Send password reset emails when requested
  • Diagnose crashes and fix bugs using Firebase Crashlytics

We do not use your data for profiling, sell it to third parties, or use it for any purpose beyond operating the app.

App Permissions

All permissions are requested only when needed and only used for the stated purpose. Contacts access is entirely optional — you can add customers manually without granting it.

Data Storage & Security

  • Your data is stored in Google Cloud Firestore, protected by Firebase Security Rules that ensure only you can access your own data.
  • All data in transit is encrypted using TLS/HTTPS.
  • Authentication tokens are managed securely by Firebase Authentication.
  • We do not store your password — authentication is handled entirely by Firebase or Google OAuth.
  • Bill images are stored in Cloudinary with access controlled by your account credentials.
⚠️ While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no system is 100% secure. We recommend using a strong password and keeping your device secure.

Data Retention & Deletion

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Edit Profile → Delete Account. This will permanently and irreversibly delete:

  • Your Firebase Authentication account
  • All customers and their transactions
  • All cashbook items and income entries
  • All app configuration and preferences stored in Firestore

Bill images stored in Cloudinary may need to be deleted separately from your Cloudinary account. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

Advertising

EvaBook is free to use and displays banner and interstitial ads powered by Google AdMob to free users. AdMob may use your device's advertising ID to show personalised ads based on your interests.

You can opt out of personalised ads at any time through your device settings: Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalisation.

Purchasing a Premium subscription removes all ads permanently.

Children's Privacy

EvaBook is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access — view all data stored in your account via the app
  • Export — download a full backup of your data (Settings → Backup & Restore)
  • Correct — edit any customer, transaction, or income entry at any time
  • Delete — permanently delete your account and all associated data
  • Opt out of ads — purchase Premium to remove all advertising

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of EvaBook after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
